Volunteer Stories

CamSight is fortunate to have over a hundred volunteers supporting our work. Volunteers are not only invaluable members of our team, but also often benefit from volunteering themselves.

Meet Chris and Lorraine

Lorraine said, “I never cease to be surprised hearing about the things people have achieved during their lives or that they have taken up since developing sight loss, such as Pilates or bowls."

Rosie's Story

Rosie said, “Volunteering for a charity can be so rewarding, and if you think you want to try, just come and give it a go and don’t delay."

Julia said, "The people I've met, the ladies I pick up for group; it's just so nice to be able to help people out."

Martin said, “I think volunteering for CamSight is a joyous activity and, as our friendship is so unique from other relationships in our lives, both parties get a lot out of the befriending service."

Pam's Story 

Pam said, "I gained more insight into how to help, wait patiently, and listen! I also had lots of moral support through my own cataract surgery last summer. So, I have gained as much from CamSight as I have given in volunteering."
