Equipment & Accessibility Team

The Equipment and Accessibility team carry out comprehensive magnification and lighting assessments and demonstrate a range of other low vision equipment including phones, kitchen items, clocks, watches, protection sunglasses and AI Metaglasses. If the equipment is shown to be beneficial, the team will discuss the various external referral, loan or purchase options available. They can also advise on accessibility features on smart phones, tablets and computers.

This is delivered via our mobile service in homes and within the community.

Michelle - Equipment & Accessibility Service Manager - Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

I joined CamSight in April 2022. Based in Fenland, I previously worked as a Support Worker for adults with learning disabilities and have always gained great job satisfaction from helping people to live the life they choose. I became the Service Manager in 2023, and I now manage and work alongside a great team who work very hard to ensure that we have relevant and up-to-date knowledge. It is extremely rewarding being able to apply this knowledge to help people access the correct equipment and accessibility features to continue to enjoy living life as they did prior to their sight loss, just in a different way. I am extremely proud to work for a fantastic organisation that provides excellent support to people with sight loss.

Adrian - Equipment & Accessibility Worker – City & South Cambs

I joined CamSight in June 2024. I bring our mobile unit directly to service users homes in the South Cambridge and City areas, especially as visiting our centre can be challenging for some visually impaired individuals. I attend our monthly support groups to share knowledge, showcase new equipment, and support the service users. I enjoy the social aspect of meeting people and helping them to live more independently. I am excited to be part of the team, and always look forward to meeting more people!

Karen - Equipment & Accessibility Worker – Fenland & East Cambs

I joined CamSight in January 2025, having previously worked in the community as a Support Worker and later as Falls Prevention Assistant Practitioner with the Falls Prevention Service. Both roles gave me valuable experience working with adults, supporting them to be independent within their own homes, and providing advice, information, and equipment. I find working for CamSight extremely rewarding and enjoy supporting people, promoting independence and improving their wellbeing. I am proud to be part of an amazing team here.
