Zoe - Senior Volunteer Coordinator

"Hi, I'm  Zoe. I have worked in the charity and health and social care sector for many years, providing mental health support, opening a trusted friend service and being a Social Prescriber. All my roles have enabled me to connect with people and I enjoy nothing more than supporting someone on their journey and seeing them gain confidence, life skills and make long-lasting friendships.

I started coordinating the Peer Support Groups in 2023, and am now responsible for our Befriending service, and our Training and Awareness Programme. I have really enjoyed getting to know our service users across the county".

Marie - Peer Support Group Volunteer Coordinator (North)

“I spent a lot of years as an IT consultant before moving into the library service. I spent five years at Ely Library before moving to Woodgreen the Animal Charity to restart their volunteer programme after Covid.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time working on the narrow boat that we live on and spoiling my rescue dog. Once a librarian always a librarian, the boat is filled with books, as is my storage unit and I look forward to starting a PhD in October. I like to challenge myself and have completed the Tough Mudder obstacle course, flown Velocity - the longest and fastest zip line in the UK and learned to paddleboard."

Julie - Peer Support Group Volunteer Coordinator (South)

"I work with our service users and volunteers at the group meetings in the south of Cambridge. I have a working background in IT as an analyst programmer with various administrative and coordinator roles in the volunteering sector. My previous role was with the Visiting Service at Age Concern NZ where I was part of the team arranging matches for our service users, coordinating volunteer visits and support groups.

Over the years I have volunteered for many groups including coordinating water safety sessions teaching 11-14 year olds to kayak and sail in the sea. I was a befriender for Age Concern and I’m also a volunteer at Anglesey Abbey on the creative maker team.

Out of work I play lots of tennis, love travelling, being out in the fresh air, walking, enjoy trying my hand at arts and crafts."
