It's World Sight Day today! 

A global initiative to raise awareness about the importance of eye health and the need for accessible eye care services. 

And to mark this year's World Sight Day we were visited by MP Daniel Zeichner, who heard all about our vital services across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough supporting those living with a vision impairment, so they can live the life they choose. 

MP Daniel Zeichner, said: "We only get one pair of eyes in this life and it’s important to look after them. This World Sight Day it’s essential that we continue to raise awareness about eye care, and I urge everyone to follow health advice on eyes testing. CamSight do an incredible job supporting visually impaired individuals and their services make a huge difference in people’s lives."

Dawn Preston, Head of Services for CamSight said: “We would like to extend our thanks to local MP Daniel Zeichner for his recent visit to CamSight to meet our team ahead of World Sight Day on Thursday 10th October.

 “We very much enjoyed talking to Daniel about the practical and emotional support we provide to people living with sight loss across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and sharing with him how that support assists people to live their best lives”.

“During his visit he participated in a magnification assessment and explored low vision equipment aids, enabling him to experience firsthand how people often begin their journey with us”.

“We are committed to supporting people with sight loss to live life confidently and independently and to creating opportunities for the continued participation in activities enjoyed prior to sight loss”.
