Staying connected

Winter can sometimes make it harder to stay motivated to get out and about, leaving us feeling a little isolated or even lonely. If you’re looking for a way to connect with others and boost your wellbeing, why not join one of CamSight’s Peer Support Groups?

Welcoming and supportive

Our groups provide a welcoming and supportive space for individuals living with low vision and blindness, as well as their carers and family members. They’re a wonderful opportunity to chat, share experiences, and support one another.

Friendly discussions

Each group is shaped by its members, ensuring the meetings reflect what participants want most. Some are informal, focusing on relaxed social interactions and friendly discussions, while others take a more structured approach, featuring information sharing, discussions about daily challenges and solutions, and guest speakers.

Our Support & Advice Team regularly visit each Group, and share updates about local events and services, and offer guidance and support. Our Equipment & Accessibility Team also make regular visits, bringing along equipment to showcase, as well as tools and resources that can make daily living easier.

Why not take the first step to staying connected this winter? We’d love to welcome you at a group near you.

Service Users have commented:

“I like how it brings us together and we can discuss things that are there to help us and what new ideas are coming up on the market. It’s also good as a support network to help us integrate within our local area. It’s nice to meet with people with similar circumstances to yourself to discuss any issues and see if you can have some answers.”

“I am new to the group and have only been coming for a few months. Starting at the group was hard, I don’t like to talk in groups, but coming here has helped me build my confidence.”

“We have picked up lots of ideas from others who attend. We go every month and really enjoy it.”

“I am extremely grateful for all the time and effort that you have put in to help me. The glasses make being outside so much more comfortable so I can now enjoy sitting outside in my garden. My daughter and I love coming to the monthly groups and always go away with some helpful information and a smile on our faces.”

Transport can be arranged

Groups run across the county in local community venues each month and we can provide support with transport if needed.
