In July 2025 CamSight were incredibly grateful to have been selected as the St Mark’s Church Charity of the Month!

One of our service users, Sue Payne, nominated us for this wonderful opportunity. Thank you to Sue for your belief in CamSight and thank you to the St Mark’s Church community for giving us this space.

As part of being the chosen charity, CamSight was invited along to the first Sunday service of the month to give a talk at the end and meet with everyone afterwards for a coffee. Our fantastic volunteer Sue Lambley gave a beautiful speech on how CamSight helped her at an incredibly difficult time in her life. She spoke poignantly about how her sight loss had affected her and the importance of having independence. Sue also revealed that her talking scales, described as having a particularly handsome voice, were named Colin after Colin Firth!

From everyone at CamSight we want to say a huge thank you the patrons of St Mark’s Church for your kindness. An amazing £527 was donated after Sue Lambley’s speech, and a further £100 has been received in donations through the church afterwards. This makes a very generous total of £627, which will go far in supporting those with sight loss in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
